It’s only impossible for those who find excuses.
The New Year began full of promises and plans of how the new year was going to be. Dreaming is great, aiming to improve and change your life, too! But everything goes downhill the moment we realize (or think) that we are not able to achieve what we propose.
The problem is two steps: first, we set the target for tomorrow a threshold where we will only reach after passing other steps. Second point: we think we are not capable. And if we do not believe in us, no one will take us where we want to go.
Therefore, along with all the confidence we deserve, we must fill ourselves with good attitudes and optimistic vision. We will get where we want and we will achieve a healthier lifestyle.
In this first post, and because we believe in every member of the SPRY community, we give you three simple points that you must retain now as you are reviewing your goals for the year that has just begun:
1. Create a plan B
Arrange for multiple possibilities. If you are late for work, go jogging instead of going to the gym. The class you like to go to is too late and does not give you time to prepare dinner? Prepare in advance and freeze meals at doses. There are always alternatives, for those who do not make excuses. You deserve some time for yourself, and you have to make the most of it. Knowing how to organize your day and your week, for the sake of that moment that is yours alone, is also a reward: be proud to get to all points on your checklist;
2. Take advantage of breaks
Organize your life, but do not forget to live it: Is the house to be arranged on Saturday? An hour will not make a difference: take the family for a walk and enjoy the moment when they are all together. Or if there is a time between having the house alone and the arrival of the husband and children, enjoy the break for a cup of tea and a little meditation. Doing "nothing" at times should be part of the routine and this is true even on those days when for some reason you could not do your workout, but you did 30 minutes with no chores. Enjoy! This time is yours and if you go for a 20-minute walk you are already doing more for yourself than regretting the lack of time;
3. Create routines
Plans B, yes. Pauses in one's routine, too. But none of that makes sense if you do not create your routine. The one that is indicated in your life, which is not molded in anyone but in itself. A routine that matches you and where even if you deviate from the path, you have the strength to go back, because the routine is yours and it was created for you and for you.
Remember: we are moving people. Move at your pace, but never stop moving!
